The purpose of this assignment from my university graphic design studio course was to create a poster for a band or music artist of our choice. We began with a handmade analog version and then were instructed to move to Photoshop to create the final version. We received feedback from the class as well as the professor on our analog version before beginning on Photoshop. My first inclination was to create a vintage collage-inspired poster with bright pop colors to reflect ABBA's colorful costume and music video designs. I felt the analog was too minimalistic so I added background color through Photoshop to create a vibrant and playful feel and added the flowers to further contribute to that feeling. I made them black to create a contrast with the brighter colors and reinforce the black stripes behind the hand.
